This school replacement project is being delivered as part of the £90m Building Schools for the Future programme for North Lincolnshire Council.
It consolidates two existing schools into a new site for 950 pupils. The design has been developed as a modern campus-style facility, resembling a smart higher education or business campus.
The £18m project is due for completion in 2011, and JPA are providing M&E consultancy services.
Sustainability has been a key factor in the design of the building.
The chosen materials have a high thermal mass to limit summertime over-heating, and high levels of insulation and air-tightness will reduce heating needs in winter.
The design has been developed to deliver optimal day lighting and natural ventilation, with bris soleil external shading controlling solar gains.
