BREEAM ASSESSMENTS FOR 7 EAST SUSSEX CHILDREN'S CENTRES
14th September 2009
JPA have been appointed by East Sussex County Council to undertake the BREEAM Assessments for the 7 new build Children’s Centres listed below.
• Ticehurst School Children Centre
• Northiam Children Centre
• Rotherfield Children Centre
• Ringmer Children Centre
• Chailey School Children Centre
• Cradle Hill School
• Bonners School
We are working with local architects MacKellar Schwerdt Architects and Michael Cook Associates to fulfil the aim of the Early Years Commissioning Team to provide Children’s Centre services for every community in the county by 2010.
Children’s Centres provide a range of services to support families with children up to five years old. These services vary according to centre but may include:
• Integrated early education and childcare – all centres offering Early Years provision have a minimum half-time qualified teacher (increasing to full-time within 18 months of the centre opening)
• Support for parents – including advice on parenting, local childcare options and access to specialist services for families
• Child and family health services – ranging from health screening, health visitor services to breast-feeding support
• Helping parents into work – with links to the local Jobcentre Plus and training.
